THOMAS CONSERVATION ORATION

Concerned at the low level of public awareness of the importance of halting the decline in Australia's species' biodiversity, the Thomas Foundation is funding visits to Australia of a number of leading international conservationists. Each will deliver an annual 'Thomas Conservation Oration', as well as speaking at other occasions and to the media.

The first of these speakers was Canadian Harvey Locke who, as keynote speaker to the Linking Landscapes conference, delivered the inaugural 'Thomas Conservation Oration'. Locke, who Time Magazine has named as one of the Canada's 21st century leaders, helped create the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Iniative.

An interview with Locke and his full Oration can be viewed below.
